About email hosting
What is email hosting?
Email hosting gives you mailboxes on your own domain, such as you@yourcompany.com, with storage, spam filtering and webmail. It is separate from website hosting and is built to deliver and store mail reliably.
Why use email hosting instead of a free email address?
A custom domain looks more professional and builds trust with customers. Paid email hosting also gives you more storage, admin controls for teams, and no ads.
Is email included with web hosting?
Often yes, but with limits on mailboxes, storage and sending volume. For a business that depends on email, a dedicated email hosting plan is usually more reliable and easier to manage.
What are IMAP, POP3 and SMTP?
IMAP and POP3 are ways your email app receives mail. IMAP keeps messages on the server so you can read them from many devices, while POP3 downloads them to one device. SMTP is the protocol used to send mail.
What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC?
These are DNS records that prove your emails are really from you. SPF lists which servers may send mail for your domain, DKIM adds a digital signature, and DMARC tells receiving servers what to do with messages that fail the checks. Setting them up helps your mail reach the inbox instead of spam.
